i never got into MMORPG's. my thing is that you need a set group of friends to consistently play with (joining random people isn't too fun for me). the other thing is that i hate monthly fees (im cheap, i know). i tried EQ and it took me an hour to get out of the dark elf town. honestly, wtf??? these things should be easy to navigate. if it were like $60 (and no fee afterward) i'd probably buy it... but monthly fees = teh suck

Most people who are currently playing, are not in a guild. And there are plenty of guilds that do NOT require regular online meetings, etc. We're even thinking about starting one for AT!

Like many things in life - in this case - you ABSOLUTELY get what you pay for. And you are free to cancel if you feel differently at any time... :thumbsup:

Depending on the race, some towns have better "urban planning" than others - some are staffed with NPC guides, others are not - so in that respect, sometimes you have to spend a little time finding your way through unfamiliar towns. A few friends that I invited over were actually surprised at how easy WoW was to navigate. There are virutally no limits placed on where you are able to travel. As long as you are capable of defending yourself from the locals, you can roam far and wide for hours on end. The maps in this game are extremely large (the installer is around 4GB!), allowing you to continually explore for many months on end without seeing the same scenery twice.

I have played many games like EQ..including...

EQ
Age of Camelot
FFXI
Anarchy Online
Star Wars Galaxy...

Now i ahve tried them all and the only really good one out of the lot I would have to say is EQ. I dont know if its becuase it was the first one I played and i know the most about it so i feel the most safe or if its just a superior game. EQ is well balanced and its full of people and it has aged well. Only problem is that its almost all people selling stuff and Power levling now adays. I played EQ on and off for a long time. My last go at it was maybe a year ago and it was very diffrent. All of the zones were pretty empty since there arnt many new players. Becuase of all the expansion packs everyone is out in 40+ dungeons killing impossible creatures.

I am most looking forward to EQ2..it looks amazing....but then again so does WoW..

Also there is going to be a free one right?

Nice pics and vids. I've got a 33 Warrior on PvP named Calyxto. Drop me a line if anyone is on that server. I played pretty much all day yesterday and I've decided I've got to get to 50 fast. It seems the only people who want to PvP are all 40+ or 50 and that's no fun when you're in the 30s. I was jumped by a 36 Warrior yesterday. Now being a warrior, you'd think he'd know about Recklessness and run away. Hehe.

I love the resting system. I've got three characters currently that I'm rotating between due to it. Level 17 Undead warrior whom I rest the most lately for easier leveling, Level 7 Human Paladin, and Level 7 Night Elf Druid (just started the lower two if you hadnt guessed)
