oh for the record, I'm ethinically Korean. My wife is a Korean citizen, My oldest son was born in Korea, We speak korean in the home, so i don't have a racial bias against koreans in particular.

BUT, i am an american first and foremost, that's why i think it's funny all these asian americans posting in this thread making fun of so called americans, when their IQ test scores were probably part of the cumulutive score that is the score of the US in these rankings.

In other words, if you grew up here, went to school here and took iq tests in america, then your test scores contributed to the score of the US, not of your native country.

Why exactly is that a bad thing? When I was in middle school, I was required to memorize the colors produced when putting different powders over a bunsen burner. Funny that in this whole long discussion, no one has even hinted at race as a factor. These days, with political correctness the rule, it's become almost taboo to even suggest that some races are more intelligent than others. In the past there have been scientific studies proving this, but of course they were quickly derided as being racist and therfore flawed.

Well, since none of you has the balls to say it, I will:

Average intelligence is correlated (at least partially) to race and it goes something like this (very roughly):

ASIANS > WHITES > BLACKS

Now go back and look at the list that was posted here and think about it.

this can't possibly be a fair representation, what you know in one country is likely useless in another. for example farming in a foreign country compared to here, most people wouldn't know anything about that if it was on a test. The main thing that will differentiate IQs from around the world is nutrition. It has been shown that if you are underfed as a child growing up it affects your learning and retention abilities pretty much, depending on how malnurished you are. These scores don't really say much.

I completely disagree, any test to measure this would have to be biased towards one race, how could it possibly be fair?

i read one of these posts saying korea's education was stricter..and another dude saying USA gives u more optiosn....i would not have my kid go through korea's education....maybe i'd send him/her over there to learn korean and learn the culter....cuz 3rd-4th gen korean dudes here might lose touch w/ their ethnic culture....

and those iq scores...are only from those students who passed high school....u don't pass, it's over....it's too hard...too selective....that's why those asian countries scored so highly...it's cuz they're selective on who takes the tests and stuff...once u do like a C avg in korea's schools..forget it...go drive a bus or something....over there..there aren't any chances...

anyway i think this iq ranking is more of a measure of the education system instead of inate intellectual capacity. asian countries score higher b/c the education system is very strict and focuses on the kind of material and test-like situation of iq tests. northa american education systems are very relaxed, and imo the students have poor attitudes

that's the idea in theory but all the iq tests i've seen have problems that are more easily solved with more education. for example look at the mensa workout, with education you receive the mental training and maybe even knowledge that enable you solve the problems quicker.

I think a source is required. I find it hard to believe that India is at 81 as well. Also, if 100 is average these results are concluding that the total mean is stupid.
