I wonder how many people would have said "Mall of America" if this post had just been a question.

I've never been there but I did watch a show on TLC about it.

I've been there a few times. It's pretty nice b/c of all the different things, the lake, the subs, dolphin show, Bourbon street, hockey rink etc. especially compared to mall of America which is really a giant square four storys high. Unfortunately, I think it is beginning to show it's age, some parts are looking a little worn and dated:(

It's supposed to be either the biggest in the world or the USA, I can't remember. Let me tell you...Carousel Mall (what they are expanding/replacing) is farking huge as it is! :Q

Is the Palisades mall anywhere in the top 10? It also has it's own built in amusement park, IMAX theatre, and about 1 of every major restaurant chain in existance. Too bad that it poorly built, though, and the whole building is sinking about an inch a year :(

I knew the biggest mall in the world was in Canada. that place is huge.

AphexII: you're a gold coaster eh? I''ve been to Sawgrass Mills Mall, aunt use to live in Pompano Beach. That mall is huge too.

I've been there before. Despite it's size, there really isn't much in terms of shopping... I was disappointed.

Is there a listing somewhere of say the 50 biggest malls in the world?

Been to the mall in the Palisades, went to the imax theatre there. Not bad.

That destiNY mall would be a LOT closer though. The website is rather sketchy but, supposedly they are going to be breaking ground on it soon.

When and where did you read that?

It's never happened as far as I know, and I don't think it's going to. The Mall of America has been quite successful since it opened in 1991 or so. As a local, I've been there countless times myself. I even worked a horrible temp job there for 3 days. I worked on not getting asked back the next day by the supervisor and was successful. A closed or vacant storefront is a rare sight inside the MOA.

I watched a show on either TLC or the Discovery Channel about this mall once. It was pretty awesome.
