I didn't watch the game, but I heard plenty of people around me yelling with excitement, and one guy on my train has tears of joy for Argentina's win

Must have been one hell of a game
 
Watched most of the second half.... terrific game from what I saw but not as close as the tie-score appears to indicate.

To be fair the French made their somewhat limited offensive chances count more.

Not exaggerating. You will never see a match like that again.
 
I've been watching soccer games for 30 years, and World Cups since 1990. This is the best soccer game I've ever seen. It will definitely be considered the best World Cup Final ever.
 
Could hardly have been closer. Argentina almost lost... that Martinez save at the very end of extended time was incredible. Then he came through in the shootout. Snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Indeed one of the best, if not the best, WC finals. Had to stream it on a 10 hour car ride. Worth it. France was great only when they had to. I never trusted Argentina's 2-0 lead in the first half because of that. Amazing work from both teams. But Messi deserved it more. What a great ending to his career (not that it ended after this) 👏
