Looks like a bunch of European nations will be wearing one love armbands tomorrow. Let's see how the regressive pigs that are the qataris handle it. Of course the French captain is like well we have to respect their culture. Fuck you buddy

i'll be shocked (but impressed) if they actually do that, word is if they try that the refs will penalize the players stop the game and force them to change it

So several of the European teams were planning to have their captains wear a rainbow armband for the games, but FIFA announced just before the tournament that everyone should wear a standard one with the UN logo on it.

England have been told off the record that if Kane wears the rainbow one he will be booked and made to change it.

They should have produced enough armbands so every player on the pitch could wear one, good luck convincing a ref took book an entire team.

The integrity of the game would be completely destroyed at that point over a simple message of peace and love.
 
Man I hope they do it and show how tainted this world cup is.

The more that do it the better. Qatar will look even more fucking shitty because they would literally be changing the outcomes in games
 
Would be hilarious if everyone on the field has the rainbow band in their possession and put it on as they are named captain after an ejection.
 
England also plans to take the knee at kickoff, I would think Iran might as well considering what's happening in their own country.
 
I haven't been paying much attention to this, but what nationality of players did Qatar kidnap to make their soccer team for this event?

Lots of other countries have foreign born players as well though (maybe not 10/26 players though)

I just did a quick look and did not check each player. Ro Ro was the only one that jumped out as obvious import. My bad.

In the back of my mind is how they recruited a pile of Bulgarians back ~2012 or whenever to immigrate and be granted instant citizenship to suddenly become Olympic weightlifters for Qatar

From what I recall, they weren't simply naturalized, but they were "recognized" as natural born Qatari citizens even though they competed with their Bulgarian names.
