The artist is a recepticle for the emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web.

Either is fine.

I think some people just like to increase their post total. I could care less about mine, but I did just add one to it. Yipdee-frickin-d.

Thanks for the post.

Easy quiz and nice looking map.

Not everyone who answers the questions right will get the map I assume?

Thanks.

BTW, I could care less about my post total I was just trying to save others some time. Here are the answers.

Mali, Gobi, Sardinia, Denmark, Ceyton, Honshu, Tropic of Capricorn, Erir, Strait of Magellan, and Caspian Sea, most of which I had to look up. 😉

<< Actually, Lake Ontario is the smallest of the Great Lakes. Lake Erie is the shallowest. >>

Both of them are counted as correct answers. Ontario is smallest by surface area, Erie by volumn.

if you read this the contest/sweepstakes is over and it seems they are leaving questions up anyways for ppl to practice. just my opinion.

This person is correct. I'm the Oxford editor who started the contest, which has ended and is now just for fun (sorry!). We're putting together another geography contest right now--it will be up soon. Please note that everyone who took the contest will be sent an email one of these days when I get around to it and asked if they want to join a geography daily listserve that sends out a "place of the day"--a short profile of a US place--along with any geo news of the day. We won't automatically sign anyone up, I just want to let everyone know. If you don't want to get the email, don't take the quiz (although all you have to do is delete it.) Thanks.
