Do you know everyone at work? Does everyone at work know you?

I'm coming up on three years at my current job and still don't know some people here at work and i'm sure they don't know me.

There is about 60 people at my location.

Yes, pretty much. Other than the high-turnover areas like the shop floor, where I only know the longtime employees.

EDIT: About 200 employees here. I'm the Network Admin.

No.

There are far too many people in this building for me to even know everyone on my floor...

The size of the workplace makes a huge difference in the social interaction.

Also, the type of work ones does and the objective of the workplace.

Generalizations do not work well.

No, there are some people who sit right across the hall or a door or two down from me and I barely know their names. I have been at this office for about a year now :( I mostly just know the people who I work directly with on a regular basis or eat lunch with. Other people. . .well they don't seem like they care to know me, and I don't really care either I guess.

Yes, there about 100 people at my branch. I'm the IT guy so when something breaks, they know who to call.

As others have said, you clearly assume that everyone works at companies of less than 100 people. There's no WAY I could know everyone that works here.

There's about 800 people at my place of employment covering 3 seperate shifts 7 days a week with a fairly high turn over.

So, no way.

we have 5 floors at the building i work at. the way they split people on the different floors leads to little interaction. i avoid talking to people anyway

yeah i guess if you work for a huge corporation is impossible.

I guess this only applies to companies with 100 people or less with regular day time jobs and not jobs with different shifts.

lol... there are about 160,000 employees in our corporation world wide. I'd be surprised if everyone of them knows who the CEO is, let alone some support schmuck. lol

However, in our "local" department most everyone at least knows of everyone else, even if they couldn't pick them out of a crowd, they'd know the name.

I work in a location of about 300-400 people, I would say I know about 70% of the people here, after a few years.

But that is just this location, we employ a few hundred thousand nation and worldwide.

I work in a 30 floor building and my company ownes and operates the whole building. there is no way in hell i'll know everyone here. plus we have staff in 131 countries. Unless I'm the CEO there's no way everyone will know who i am
