Well I bit the bullet today and decided to buy a used Apple Cinema HD Display 30" off of a Craigslist post. I definitely did not want to risk shipping damages again after the last fiasco so I picked it up locally.

I dislike Apple as a company due to their poor business tactics, but due to my recent experience with Dell I was definitely not going to purchase another one of their products and I have never heard anything good about the HP 30" LCDs and Viewsonic 30" LCDs are rather expensive so Apple was the only remaining 30" I was interested in.

I also received my EK Supreme HF RMA replacement in the mail 🙂 EK just had me mail my corroded block back to PPCs and EK contacted Hank to setup the RMA, nice and easy.

After 2 weeks I finally got them to authorize the complete care package warranty exchange and it sat at "authorized" for 3 days then for 2 days stated "parts ordered" then on the 6th day it was "cancelled".

The seller insured the package with Fedex and we had initially attempted to go through Fedex for the claim but what I was told when I had called was basically that even with the damage sustained to the box, that since there was plenty of protective bubble wrap around the LCD and plenty of packing peanuts that there is no way the LCD could have been shattered. I also received a letter in the mail from Fedex yesterday which confirms their stand on the claim. Fedex is horrible when it comes to insurance claims and I've read other horror stories with how they will not honor their insurance claims. Funny part of it all was that the package required a signature and I was not home to sign for the package (which I had mentioned to them, but they said "someone signed for the package" so they left it).

This is why I ultimately went to Dell to have my monitor replaced but even Dell decided to play games and in the end I am stuck with a broken LCD. So I am filing a compliant with the New York State Attorney Generals office as they had sued Dell in the past for not honoring warranties and I am going to take Dell to small claims court as I doubt Dell will hire a lawyer or send one out to represent them for a max $500.00 USD lawsuit against them.

Have you tried calling your credit card company? I know all 3 of my major credit cards double my product warranty from date of purchase. So even if the manufacturer chooses to deny your warranty claim, your credit card company also gives you warranty (i.e., esp. if you have a Gold or Platinum card, etc.), and that may include accidental damage. Most people don't know this since they never read their credit card agreements.

You may want to talk to them about the situation and see if some kind of a resolution can be reached that way; or if they offer any advice. Technically speaking, you purchased an item and it wasn't delivered to you in operational condition as promised by the vendor. i.e., Your credit card company may tell you that they may force either Dell or Fedex to foot the bill since neither fulfilled on its contractual obligation to deliver a working product to you. It's worth a try. I had some very positive experience with credit card companies, at least in Canada. You'd be surprised how much power they hold over the seller. You can pretty much question any charge on your credit card statement with an explanation and that charge can be placed on hold, for as many as 90 days, pending investigation.

I used my debit card through Paypal and it wasn't from Dell, it was from a previous owner. But as per Dells website the warranties transfer, especially ones like the Complete care package and the Next day business replacement which you have to pay extra for. So Dell is definitely in the wrong by not replacing my monitor.

As for Fedex, they are notorious for not honoring insurance claims from the many complaints I have read about on various whistle blower sites.

After reading what you posted, it makes me wish I would have paid for it using my credit card, but I don't own a gold or platinum so who knows how good it would have been even then.
 
Paypal does have investigation services just like the creditcard companies.

It happend once before where I bought a radio and what I received did not match their description. I contacted paypal and they handled it for me and gave my money back.
 
Looks like my build is changing and I'm going with an Intel system since the Bulldozer is a Faildozer. Now I get to have the daunting task of selling off this 990 FX motherboard and water block and try not take a huge loss on both.

Anyway... I got some more stuff in the mail today, the Enzotech compressions 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD and some IandH .999 Silver Kill Coils.

Ordered my Sandy Bridge 2600K and Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7 to replace all the AMD junk. Hopefully I will have it by tomorrow and then I can take some snap shots and install it so I can route my tubing and start my leak tests!
 
Today was a good day, as I have won both my small claim suits against Fedex and Dell as they did not show up to defend themselves in my case against them. I was awarded a total of $1000, $500 from Dell and $500 from Fedex.
 
Good! Too bad you had to eat a few hundred, but I won't do any more business with Dell after your story. Killer build.

Time for some surgery! Out comes the 990FXA-UD7 and in goes the Z68X-UD7 🙂 I'll post pictures once I get everything mounted inside of the case. Then it's time to start routing all my tubing so I can run my leak test!
 
After a successful leak test and a 10 hour Prime95 burn in to test my 5 GHz stability here it all is.

It's still messy as I'm waiting for new rounded SATA cables and looking for some new tubing as I'm having a little problem with the Tygon tubing I purchased. If you look closely where I circled in yellow the tubing is flattening when I turn on my pumps, my flow is still decent at 147 L/h but it is annoying aesthetically.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or if there is any other alternative for tubing? I noticed that tygon and primoflex tubing are both very thin walled which is most likely the cause.

Well after some testing I figured out that the issue with the tubing flattening was due to the walls of the tubing being too thin. Also, the pump was in a very poor spot being above the reservoir which ultimately gave me bleeding issues.

Ultimately I had to re-position the pumps and re-route tubing. I had to remove the external hard drive cage and move the 3TB Seagate Barracuda into the Hotswap bay and remove my 250GB WD back into the external case it came in.

I am planning on replacing all of the tygon tubing with A-60 neoprene tubing. I just have to wait for my delivery from Frozen CPU.

A-60 is actually Norprene which is a trade name and not neoprene. (it's actually better)

Will do, but I'm not using plexi versions so I won't know until either something goes wrong or until I have to break down the loop.
 
Well here she is, 95% completed. I am just waiting on my MNPC Tech "Diamond Knurl" case feet, larger heatsink for my Aquaero 5 XT and a replacement Koolance FM-17 flow meter and I my build will officially be done.

I got my A-60 Neoprene tubing from Frozen CPU and replaced all of my clear Tygon tubing.

Just some quick numbers,

CPU Flow - 121.8 L/H

CPU loop temperature - 28.7 C idle / 36.2 C full load @ 5 GHz - VCore 1.485
GPU loop temperature - 27.2 C idle / 39.8 C full load


Here is one quick picture I took last night while the lights were off.

The final picture flood should be coming along very soon.

I am just taking the time to zip-tie down all the loose cables/wires into bunches and finishing up some last minute sleeving.

I purchased and mounted a NZXT IU01 USB Expansion module as the GA-Z68X-UD7 motherboard only had (2) internal USB 2.0 headers and I required a total of 5 since the Aquaero 5 XT and the (2) Poweradjust 2 Ultras used them as well. I didn't do any fancy things to hide the module but I did place it out of sight.

I also realized that I do have to order 3 more rounded SATA cables (longer then 10") as I don't want to use flat cables as well as my MNPC Tech case feet.
