If you are involved at all in the jazz music world, you've heard of Marcus Printup. He's one of the best jazz trumpet players alive. Even if you aren't in the jazz world right now, I'm sure you've heard of Wynton Marsalis, right? Well, Marcus Printup is in Wynton's band, and is currently touring with him.
And I got to work with him. 🙂 Man it was awesome, he's incredible. I sat on a piano bench next one of the best musicians alive, and he taught me about certain kinds of chord structure, etc. He taught me a lick. Marcus friggin Printup taught me a lick! 😀 It's a huge, huge thrill to have this kind of oppertunity.
Last night, I got to perform with him in concert, and afterwards, I had to say goodbye after two amazing days of working with him. I did manage to get a pic of him and me, so as soon as that's it developed I'll upload (if you care to see it).
Some of you are going "wow" right now and some are going "huh?". It's all a matter of if you're into the jazz scene or not.
But regardless, I worked with one of the best musicians in the world for two days. I'm ecstatic. 😀
