Working Permit for Minors

I was under the impression that when a minor took out a working permit, they would be refunded all taxes that were taken out of their paycheck during the time they were working. Is this the case? If so, what does the minor need to do to get the refund? Anyone?

Thanks,
Dan

SS is never refunded.

State and Federal Income tax may get refunded depending on the amount of income earned during the year. Jsut because you are a minor does not grant you any special exemptions.

If you know that your income will be below the federal tax level for the complete year, you can have your payroll adjusted accordingly. IF you screw up though, then you will have a penalty.

Working permits are not required for all minors, just 14 and younger, also. Well, at least that's the way it is here in Oregon.

Work permits for minors vary by state - I live on the border of NY and NJ and I know for a fact both have different laws.
Anyway, I don't think the fact that you're a minor will get your tax refunded - more likely the fact that you don't make enough money will get you your taxes back.
