Martin Luther King Day is a federal holiday here in the US, so as a govie, I'm off. This is the first employer I've had that actually gave us the day off.

So out of curiosity, who, of our US-based, gainfully employed ATOTers will be working?

Public poll, so we can hassle the people that have to work.

private sector, it's not considered a holiday at my company.

even if it was I'd be working (because we're operational 24/7/365), but I won't be receiving holiday pay for working tomorrow.

I'm off and private. I think it's a rather sad excuse for a day off, but I'm not going to complain.

We have 11 paid holidays each year. I'm not sure how that compares.

Well, at least it's not Lee-Jackson-King day here in VA anymore. Actually, it hasn't been since the first year that I moved down here, but I always found that to be a little odd. Two confederate generals and the leader of the civil rights movement? Hmm...

I do not have the day off, and while I it would be cool that they would let us off, I understand why we simply cannot do that.

Awww. 🙁

If it's any better I know our Boston office is essentially closed and I won't be able to get answers for something I am working on 'til Tuesday. :\

Sounds like you should take the day off, then. Maybe head down to the bar like I plan to do.

Not American. Wasn't even aware that MLK day was a "holiday" holiday until I found out that he markets were closed.

The staff is off, but most of us attorneys are coming in. I won't rush in and I do not expect to stay a full day, though.
