The "friends" that told me about it are more of my online-only buddies. I don't really know them well enough to pick up something that expensive.Awesome, but it's really worth considering an 875K build if you can get it from one of your friends near microcenter for 200$. The 875K is a better price/performance (as well as flat out performance) part than any AMD chip if you can get it for that price.

It looks pretty solid to me. I'll probably end up with that Dell IPS monitor you were speaking so highly of and I'll need a decent HSF. Do you think I'll be okay with just one 5850 (since that board doesn't support CrossFire)? I probably won't pick up a Southern Islands until probably late next year and don't want to be trailing really far behind when it comes to upgrading. I wouldn't mind spending a bit extra on a motherboard that supports CrossFire if it means I don't have to replace it in a year.
