Worked security for a concert tonight. Got to beat people down.

I worked security for a multi-band concert tonight that attracted 30,000 people. I was standing on the sound-booth area and had a perfect view of the center of the crowd. Everytime me and my partner would spot a fight going on, we'd push through the crowd at top speed, break it up, and haul people out the door.

It was a freaking blast. The adrenaline was so amazing.

Me and my co-worker had:

27 people escorted out
11 fights broken up
4 mosh pits closed down

Damn, that was fun.

😎

Sounds fun, but careful, eventually someone will fight back, and it might not be with their fists. 😛

I always wanted to experience security for maybe a small club or something at one point. That's amazing.

I guess I haven't been to a concert in too long...no more mosh pits? Not that I was ever one to flail about in one, but they seemed okay.

I worked concert security for a summers back in the early 90's, what a fun job.

It paid crap (minimum wage) and at times could be boring (guard this entrance in the blazing sun for 8 hours).

definately becareful, i watched some security guards get interviewed and they talked about how they would get stabbed and not eve nknow it since there is so much adrenline flowing.

******, that was you? I started 3 of the mosh pits before this jag in a pink popped collar tee came up to me and insulted my girl. I had to deck him. I shoulda kicked yer ass, but there were too many people around that were cheering you on so I just went on without much of an issue cause the music sucked and I *know* they weren't cheering that ****** on.

Anything attracting 30000 people probably isn't a very fun show, but breaking up pits is pretty stupid, it's what keeps people into the music at the show. As dumb as that sounds.

27 Kills
11 headshots
4 flags captured.

😉

heh, looks like you are getting ready for your next job 🙂

Reading this post just brought out the words 'DUMB SH!T' out of my mouth. Concerts like that are boring as is, and you take pride in breaking up mosh pits? What a lame place, I'd like to see you doing that at a local punk show.

lol...the bands sucked. Ones that you might know would be:

Breaking Benjamin
Three Days Grace
Buckcherry
Black Stone Cherry

+ other craptacular bands.

There were twelve year-old kids getting run over by drunken assholes. I had no problem doing it. Oh, wait, still don't.

My friend use to run raves, and working security, especially door security, was the best part of the job. Everybody wanted to do it. You got to meet people, got to decide who gets in or not (fantastic especially when you could get friends in at the last moment), and got LOTS of tips from people bribing their way in.

Coatcheck was awesome too. We just smoked up in that room (it's where all the girls like hanging out too, which was a bonus).

I was on the side of the moshers, as i frequent local punk shows, but after reading the lineup, I would have kicked some @$$ too. WTF is there to mosh to, with those craptastic bands?!?!?!

Hope you broke a few heads.

Mosh pits get way out of hand at times - particularly when unsuspecting folks get caught up in them.

You did good.
