i did notice one thing though, someone dumped a bunch of woodchips on your lawn. what a prick 😛

Very nice.

What would be a better alternative to using woodchips?

..looks great. I'll tell the gophers the place is ready for em 😀.

LOL. There's a chipmonk that lives near the yard light poll (middle of mulch near the F sign). Every year (including this year), we will ocasionally find a hole in the middle of the work that the little ah heck goes in and out of. Have also caught sight of him on the porch and the rear deck a few times.

Thanks everyone. 🙂

I'm sore this morning from all the work! 🙁

Very nice. I can't wait to get done with some other projects (refinish deck, seal driveway, garage door opener, install basement bathroom) so I can dig into my new yard.

How did you do that edging? Is it poured concrete or individual pieces?

Actually, we've had the edging for a few years. I had a company come in a do it. They have a machine and it pours fiberglass filled concrete in sections and places a stone pattern (or brick or whatever you want) pattern in it. I spent a few hours resealing it. The reason it's not continuous is that it could crack and break easier.

Looks nice. What are you using for edging? I think I like that a lot better than the black plastic stuff. Do you think it would stand up to a garden tractor driving on it?

Do you know who makes it and where it can be bought? It may not be available here in Michigan due to our winters. Looks good though.

Nice job! I made the critical error of showing those pictures to my wife. I sense hours of work and a dumptruck load of hog fuel ( big wood chips ) in my future🙁😛

The edging is a poured product by "Border Magic" (lots of companies do it). They have around 100 patterns (stone, brick, etc). They mix fiberglass into their concrete and then mixing dyes to color it. The have a machine with moulds that pours it in sections of 4 feet or so and then they use a blade to cut a break. They then use colored dye to color the various features (mortar joints, etc) to make them look real. Finally, they seal it with an oil based agrigate sealer. Must be resealed every two years. Because it's in sections and has fiberglass in it, supposed to be very tough. Can't verify a tractor running over it though! :Q

I originally had black plastic around the sidewalk portion and hated it. When I had them pour the new edging, I had them add the lopsided figure 8 island in the center. 🙂

Maybe I should place a warning in the OP? :Q
