Trying to download more than 2 files at a time in IE doesn't work. Seems the 3rd file doesn't allow the download to start until one of the first two downloads is finished. Is there a fix for this? Thanks for any help!

That may be a built in limit of the website, and not the browser, to keep people from either blocking connections, or from sucking all its bandwidth.

Must be the site you are downloading from, they could probably cap it at a certain download amount per user... I remember downloading 5-10+ files simultaneously on my 33.6 - yes they were all mega slow, but they were all downloading.

I have Win2K and use the IE 5.0 that comes with it. I just had 6 simultaneous downloads going.....

It sounds like a site problem, not your browser.

No, I remember it being posted once. There is some sort of standard set for browsers, among which is a requirement that no more than two files be downloaded at once. This can include things such as pictures on a site, or actual files you will be saving on your computer.

I remember there was a kind of fix, but not what you have to do. Actually, it would be a nice thing to do. Does anyone remember it?

What I was downloading was full episodes of The Family Guy from http://www.thefamilyguy.com. They are large files and even on my cable connection they take a little while to download. I can get 2 downloads going from that site and any attempts to download a 3rd don't start until one of the first 2 finishes. Same thing happens if I try to download something from another site. This only happens with Internet Explorer. I can use Netscape and have as many downloads as I want going. I took a quick look in the regsitry and couldn't find anything obvious like "MaxDownloads=2" or something. There's gotta be a way around this...

I'm pretty sure there is a setting under control panel then network. Because I know I can move mine around from 1 to 100. It's under something in there like max sessions or something like that. It might be under Net BEUI or however you spell it. If you aren't using that try just adding it. It shouldn't mess anything up.
