Stumbled upon one of these sites that I've seen time and time again. This is the one that came through in my CareerBuilder.com email today:

or
http://www.weworkonline.com

They look the same but maybe that's what the scam is is to setup the same website and get others to pay in. heh.

I'm just wondering if anyone here has ever paid the $40 or whatever to get one of these magical kits sent to you so you could quit your job and work from home and rake in the cash. heh heh.

Of course the site doesn't give you any information on what you'd actually have to do other than something to do with a website and selling stuff... But I was just curious if anyone had ever done it and what you found.

 
I always was curious about it... but i was always told you should never have to pay for something like this to start...

Im in the same boat. Always was interested in what it was but never understood that if it was a guarantee to make money, that you would need to pay for it to start.
 
I always think they're scams. And then I hear other people who think they're scams too. So I wonder why people continue to do them. Are there a lot of really gullible, embarrassed people out there that just don't speak up about getting taken in on these?
 
Those are generally all scams, requiring you to invest a greater deal of money (in the thousands) to have any sort of success, and even so the chance of success is low. They probably have you sell some junk, or recruit new members to recruit new members, etc. I was reading up on this sort of thing the other day.
 
Think if it this way: if you knew how to make a ton of money workign from home would you share your secret with others? Even for $40.00 I sure as hell wouldn't.
 
I know it's probably a scam.. The original question was asking if anyone had ever paid to get one of the kits. So far I guess the answer is no eh? heh.

Is there any similar site that lists the top 10 non-scam work at home gigs?
My wife is looking for something to do part time to fend off boredom and bring in some income for the family that would still allow her to stay home with our 1 year-old daughter. Surely there must be some legitimate way to be able to make at least a little extra money at home.

The 2nd link has stuff like that but guess what, you have to pay to get it... kind of ironic huh?

That "kit" they send you is just a listing of work from home companies. From there you would still have to contact those companies on your own. My sister was looking into this and I told her it's likely a scam and to call them first and that's what they told her.
