I just got a job offer to be a civillian worker for the US Military, doing web work mostly (flash, shockwave, director). Is it worth it to work for the military? Oppprtunities to move up? Do they pay good?
Is it civil service? My dad works for the civil service at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs. It seems like a typical job but I guess the benefits are pretty decent, he gets a lot of leave and stuff.
<< Never knew we had an Army base their. Thats not too far from my University, Rutgers.
Anyway, goodluck, the Army should at least give u mucho benefits >>
Yeah, It's right near Red Bank, NJ. Are you at the New Brunswick campus?
<< Contractor or GS/WG civil service job? Contractors are paid quite well, while GS/WG jobs pay well PISS POOR! >>
Yea... my mom is an SES @ US DOT and the contractors working for her make 4 to 5 times more per hour. But they don't get the benefits (healthcare + retirement plan) It still is outrageous IMHO.
