Work bonuses: Do you get them and how much?

I'm in IT and we get a bonus of $500 for completing or meeting the required hours for our given tasks, which basically are just tasks that are part of my job descriptions. The only way not to get that monthly bonus is if I just totally slacked off and didn't care.

$6000 a year in bonuses isn't very bad for just doing my job.

Yes, end of the year bonus up to 10% of my salary. Last two years it's been about 7-8%.

Yes, I have a target bonus of 15% of my salary. That can go up or down depending on my review.

it varies by job code, from 0% to 20%

but that is only the median/target amount

a complex formula decides what percent of that percent everyone gets each year. if we hit targets dead on , i get 15%
if it is a bad year, then the bonus may only be 50% of target, so i would get 7.5%

Last year I got about $3k. Which in my business I was very happy about. I am in environmental consulting.

My brother got a bonus of about $165k, but he puts in 80-90 hrs weeks. He is in investment banking.

Approximately 10% of a 30 day running average of a combined 6 months worth of the company's sales. Twice a year.

This'll actually be my first year doing that, but before I usually got an *unknown* amount of bonus which was all over the place from year to year, so the fact that I made him lots of money over the last decade incurrs such profit.

I actually pull more out of my location at the company than the owner does.......but that's how it should be, right??

I get a xmas bonus at the end of the year.... an $80 wal-mart gift card No kidding. That's it, nothing more. Better than nothing I guess! I usually take the card and buy $80 worth of beer to drown the sorrows of having a crappy job

My profit sharing bonus last year was $82,127 (before tax), but that was an exceptional year. I don't expect it will be more than $50,000 this year.

we get 6% bonus every quarter if we meet revenue expectations. they usually pay it out at 110% actually so i guess its 6.6% a year. sometimes you can get awarded a merit award and get $400-4000 , depends on how much your manager likes you.

generally those awards just go to non exempt employees to "make up" for extra hours that others get OT for.

i got an ipod shuffle once for working on a certain project. some people have been given nanos as of late (generally we are all mad about that since its really unfair who the free bonuses go to since the reason is always for "working hard" which well everyone does)

That's not universally true. My spouse is an EE at a large company and he gets bonuses equal to around 10% of his annual salary (two around Feb, one in July), plus stock options and a raise.

I got bonuses last year that ammounted to +15% of my salary. It was split up in 4 quarterly bonuses and one year end bonus.
