Wordpress archive issues

If anyone could help with this or point me in the right direction I would be eternally greatful, I have searched google up and down and can't find anything. Recently I switched wordpress themes on my site and now the archive for posts is unusable. If you try and click on the archives for a particular month it just brings you back to the homepage. I'm tempted to move this out of Programming, except I don't know where else it would go. This is really a Wordpress support issue, not a programming issue, unless you made code changes you think might have caused the problem.

If you have one of the caching plug-ins installed I would begin by clearing the cache.

I have tried over at wordpress support forums and have had no help. Feel free to delete or move if it doesn't fit though. I don't have a cache plug-in installed so it can't be that.
