im usin WIN2k and whenever i open a file like .php3 in wordpad and save it..it adds a .TXT extension..and its pissin me off....any ways to stop it from adding that???
It's not a virus, it's just the way wordpad is. The concept involves the fact that the program (thinking it's smart) will add the proper file ending for the document depending on what type of file you select in the drop down menu (".rtf" for real text format; ".txt" for text document, etc.). There's nothing you can do; just rename the file after it's saved and remove the txt ending.
Well, if you use notepad, the drop down menu includes "All Files *.*", while wordpad did not. When you select this option, the program won't add any extension.
i second getting another editor.... but.. do you have wordpad set to "always open this file type", if not, this should work for you..
