WORD Question

About 15 years ago I used to use a word processor (called Framework by Ashton tate) which had a very easy to implement, useful feature.

Feature: instead of using normal "spaces" in a character string that you wanted to be maintained as a "word" for editing/word wrapping ease, you could use alt-space (or some variation of the "spacebar") to "force" the space to be included as a valid characte rof the word so that the word processing on that word always kept it together when "text wrapping".

For instance, lets's say I always want the number 1.3 x E-3 to be treated as a "word", is there a quick, easy way in WORD to make this happen?
