Not even a bloody mary or mixing it in burgers/meatloaf?

i can see why someone might like it in burgers, but the idea of it in meatloaf seems absolutely disgusting.

to me, the major taste component seems to be soy sauce. which i'm not really a fan of. the extra stuff (anchovies, onions, vinegar, whatever else) just makes it worse.

i don't eat enough good meat around here. i never go out and buy CUTS of meat. i should really get on that but i don't put much effort into the menu around here.

oh and the reason i said that is because i love it on pork chops

The reason I brought this up was this whole concept of "unami" or savory depth to food. Worchestershire seems to do that. And a little goes a long way, say a tablespoon for 1 pounds of burgers.

I don't think I've ever used it as a sauce, just cooking. But damn a bloody mary just ain't right without extra whorstisure.

I don't like anchovies layered in brine, and the combination of tamarinds in molasses, garlic in vinegar, chilies, cloves, shallots, and sugar just makes me want to gag everytime I even smell that stuff.

So no, I don't love it.

I think it's great. Really complex stuff for what is basically a generic supermarket product. Doesn't get the credit it deserves.

Now I want to find the British version.

For real. I'm on a mission now. Amazon failed me so I don't think it exists. 🙂

a few splashes in mac & cheese while you're cooking it is needed. I'm not sure what taste it adds, I don't taste it when I make my mac & cheese with it. But without it, the taste is difference.

put it on spring rolls. way better than duck sauce.

Spring rolls have been my only application... pretty common there. Doesn't really fit with much else IMO. Never heard of using duck sauce on them. I guess I'm' not chinese enough.
