Isn't the bag of crap basically the same concept as the lottery? A very few people get a large return on their $5 payment, while the rest get useless "crap?" Or is the other stuff often worthwhile enough to raise the expected value to match the cost of the BOC?

I've never have been able to order a BoC before, but it looks pretty good from what people post. There are some sites where you really do get worthless junk, but woot seems to give stuff at least worth the price.
