back to the USB adapter.

I'm also curious if that is a good deal. Also, I plan to piggy-back on a neighbor's wireless connection (with his permission), and am wondering what is the typical range for these things? Neighbor is maybe two hundred feet away, is that too far? What are my options if I need to connect to a router that far away?

if it's through an open field then you might get a signal from 200 feet. but if there are walls in the way, forget about it. i'm not sure you'd get decent signal even with strong boost antennas on each end.

With a laptop or a desktop machine?

If it's a desktop, I'd say get a PCI card and an external antenna or something

a chest belt heart rate monitor... I'm intrigued. Heh

I should wear it at work, to monitor how stressed I get meeting deadlines or churning out VBA macros.

I ordered a HR monitor, but it's been sitting at the order status screen for about 10 minutes now.

Is it just me, or does that thing not have a slot for any sort of media card?

I haven't found any mention of a slot for a media card. Sells for about the same price on Ebay 🙁

Ebay also has 1gb versions, so I highly doubt there's a MC slot.
