Woot!

Thanks to educational credits, I got a decent chunk back. 🙂

Combined with some green from my emergency fund, I will finally be paying off my last remaining credit card. 😀

That'll save me roughly 100 to 150 a month, and I won't be pissing away money to the interest rate.

So, I think that in celebration, I will 'inject' some money into the economy. Patricia Brigg's new book came out a week ago, I'll be picking that up.

My car needs a few new tires and the windshield has a crack in it. I'm also thinking of picking up two Radeon 4350s for my test beds, AMD definitely needs some cash.

Depends on your insurance deductible. If the crack isnt to big they should fill it for free.

Funny, if you didn't have them withholding so much money from you, you could have already paid them off saving tons in interest on the card.

But cheers, I guess.

I sincerely doubt it's covered by my insurance, I went to a pretty minimalist policy when I paid off my car loan a year ago. The crack is about 8in long, L shaped, beginning in the bottom middle.

2/3rd of my federal return was due to the educational credits. The extra few dollars in my pay checks each week would have simply disappeared into Wendy's, Subway, etc.

I got my fed and state... but I am curious as to what this educational credit is that you speak of...

The last two years, it was the Hope Credit. This year, the Life Time Learning Credit.

Still waiting for my T4. i could have sworn those came in before end of january, but everyone says otherwise so guess not. Not sure how much I'll get this year. I usually get a few grand.

I don't understand our government when it comes to taxes. If they're going to give us money, why take it in the first place?

That's pretty early.

I don't even have my T4 (Canada) yet, but I made bat shit last year, so I will get a total refund of income taxes.

I've already got mine back, a nice $2700 refund between federal and state. It was mostly because I graduated in May and then got a job so I only worked 6 months. If my math is right next year I'll owe about $160 which is right around where I want to be. I want to owe just a little bit so I'm not giving the government an interest free loan.
