So I ordered the following for one of my old aging rigs:

Athlon 64 3000+ RETAIL
Chaintech VN250 Nforce 3 250 Board
Thermaltake 480W Black PSU (hopefully it will perform as good as anand's reviewed unit did😀)

Old parts that are going in:

2x256MB DDR266, 1x512MB DDR266 (All crucial)
Radeon 9500 softmodded to 9700 PRO (OCed to PRO speeds)
SB Live 5.1
Seagate 80GB 7200RPM HD
HP CD-RW
Enermax chassis

Hopefully this system will run ok with my 1gb DDR266 crucial ram. I got everything for about $350 with fedex next day air shipping from Zipzoomfly. Ordered it at 10:20PM last night, can't wait!

BTW are most of the retail Athlon 64 3000+ that shipping from zipzoomfly CG revisions?🙂

The Retail 3000+ I got from them a month or 2 ago is a CO revision. It ends in a AP. I don't know what you will end up with. CO is still very fast.

You're gonna be thrilled when you get it 🙂 I just got a new Athlon system the other day and I can actually play computer games now 😀

Was just wondering if its a good idea having 3 memory modules going into your system... woudn't that disallow use of the dual channel memory setup?

I would whack in 2x512MB sticks.

I wish I could get some money to upgrade myself to an Athlon 64... If my computer had worked when I first got it, I might be happier about the card I have, but since it didn't, and it's taken me so long to have a fully working computer, I need a freakin upgrade already!

If you're setup works well, I'll have to check out similiar motherboards to the one you are using...

Socket 754 CPU's are all single channel.
