I just ordered this baby from Newegg.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127728

I'll be swapping my eVGA GTX 460 1gb out for it so hopefully I'll see some big gains. I also hope to try Battlefield 3 out with a triple monitor setup. I've never gone with MSI for a video card, do they have good customer service and are they reliable?

Anyone else have this same card or a 650 TI Boost?

for the price you could have gotten a HD 7870 which would have been a much bigger upgrade but nice card

If you want to play BF3 with triple monitors you will have to play at lower settings

Should be about 30-40% faster..

Also MSI is top notch for RMA's and service Imo.

I'm not sure where you're finding a HD 7870 for $144 AR.

As far as the triple monitor setup....ya, I figured I would really have to turn the settings down. More than likely I'll try it out once just to see how it is then revert back to playing on a single monitor.

Preowned there going for $135-170 some with warranty still

Trust me F2F, I would have loved to go higher but price is a huge thing for me right now. I figure this will tide me over for a while since I only game at 1680 x 1050 resolution anyway.

Durvelle27: Damn. I've never bought a used GPU but I've never had issues with processors/motherboards. Maybe next time I'll look on the FS forum but it will be nice have a brand new card, plus I'm more of a Nvidia guy. Last ATI card I had was a X850 XT if I remember correctly.

I would rather game at max settings on 7950 single monitor 1920x1080 than multi monitors on medium low 1650x1050.

Return it. Sell the monitors, buy a 7950 for 200$ and a decent 1080p monitor for 200.

Vague used card pricing claims. First off, the O.P. probably didn't want to scour the internet for used and secondly, from Newegg (which he bought from) you CAN NOT get an HD 7870 for $169.99 before rebate or $144.99 after. The O.P. made a good choice and congrats to him on his purchase.

Hard market right now as far as what the hell to buy,650 ti boost vs 7850 at nearly the same price while the 7950 is cheaper depends on model over the gtx760,one can go crazy on newegg browsing.:awe:

Amd does bundle the games but personally when i am ocd about one game and its performance, screw all else.:D

Seems both nvidia products are faster then Amd at stock clocks in BF3,the one game that's tasking the living hell out of my gtx650 non ti then again with BF4 almost here, gotta wonder just how good the games gonna rape the current gen?

650 ti boost is not even all that impressive in demanding games on a single monitor so I would forget about triple monitors. its a shame to have system like that and not go for a gtx760 or 7950.

I hope you got the 2GB version. If you did than it's a worthwhile upgrade from your GTX 460 1GB. If not, you wasted your money.

Sorry. I didn't check your link. You are getting the 2GB version. That's smart.

Am I reading your sig right?

2 x 760 4GB SLI on a 1680x1050 Monitor?

OP - I'd really look at cancelling your order and getting a good 7850 and overclock it. That 256Bit Bus will help you and overclocking will make it faster than a 660.

wow.

so the op bought a card to replace 460s, a better card and he is getting bombarded?

How was the 460 doing? Would not the card he bought be better? no?

I think it would.
The sky is not falling...........
if he is not happy with his card after he gets it, he can send it back.

There isn't a dime's worth of difference between an HD 7850 and GTX 650 Ti Boost when both are OC'd to the max. They both end up being about as fast as a stock GTX 660. The 2GB models of both are at the same price point. Encouraging him to cancel his order accomplishes nothing.

so we should all rejoice and praise the op? this is a forum where people give advice and opinions.

Don't forget never missing an opportunity to throw cold water on someone's excitement about their purchase (while ostensibly just doling out advice and opinions). He had a tight budget and wanted a tide-me-over type card that would give him a reasonable improvement over a GTX 460 while staying within it. Sounds like he did just that. Oh, sorry, I see the problem. He didn't consult with AT forums and follow their advice to the letter (even if the consensus might have been exactly what he did).

open box, is that like someone bought it, tried for the golden OC and returned it as incompatible?.../joke

Im sure.. or even more likely user error. Either way your going to vastly improve over the 660ti. I think im going to try a pair this weekend. Worse case I return them for full refund. No restocking fee on open items

Trust me guys, if I had the cash to spend on a GTX 760 I would have gone that route. I mainly got this to enable me to play BF3 with a little higher settings. I honestly don't expect to be able to game on 3 monitors with this card but having the ability to use 3 will be nice.

Plus it will allow me to move my GTX 460 over to my wife's computer. She only plays WoW so it will suffice.

Sorry, OP but I just have to respond. 1680x1050 is NOT a low resolution and my games run about twice as fast now. My benchmark scores are up 90%. I plan on buying a 27" 1920x1080 Samsumg LED 120Htz monitor in the near future so I wanted to think ahead. I think I made the right choice.

Your gtx650 ti BOOST is as fast as a 7850 from reviews, having had a 7850 before that card could do high with mssa disabled, hbao enabled and motion disabled and for the majority of maps easily hold 50+ which is fantastic so your card should have comparable if not better results.

I ran medium all enabled but msaa and basically held 60+ in nearly all maps at 1920x1200p,to me that is great.
