Yea, they're phone pics. I didn't bring my camera up to school, deal with it. 😛

KRK Rokit 5's... they are beautiful.

Can't wait to start actually recording with them... 😀

Ended up costing $240 for the pair. A good deal compared to buying them retail. I needed a nice pair of "bookshelf" speakers, but I wanted them to be active monitors really. I didn't want to have to end up getting a power amp and all that, so after some research I came across these guys. I'm glad I did.

move them away from the wall. heck, I know your space is probably limited, but you should move your desk away from the wall. Do those speakers have a space/room compensation switch?

blah they are actives =(

Monitors are for near field application. Good for recording or office desktop speakers. The sound may not be to your taste though. I almost picked up a pair for my office.

Abstained since I value my life more than new speakers. Wifey would have killed me 🙂

Why do you not like active?

B&W ripoffs?

no, B&W does not have exclusive rights to yellow cones.

I didn't mean like an actual ripoff, they just look like the series.

There are very few unique looking speakers, physics basically dictates what kind of shapes you can go with.

Does it make a lot of difference with those that they're down that low? I used some phone books to raise up my speakers at work.

Them are nice speakers. I almost bought them myself.
Picked the Swan M200 MKII instead. I'm not recording anything.

Good deal. Even if you DIY, you would be hard-pressed to match that price, especially with amplification thrown in.

I only see 1 monitor. Oh, you mean the bookshelf speakers. You should've used that money to buy a decent digicam. kek

I really can't. I'm tight as it is... but I know what you're saying. This isn't anything too professional... just a dorm room. 😛

It does because you aren't really getting the full sound. If you're at the point of "the triangle" you get the best sound obviously. I'm still trying to figure out what I can put under them to get them up to my ears height.
