You could make her feel extreme guilt, so she wouldn't be honest with you about where she stands in regards to the status of your relationship. Which leads me to ... have you resolved things between the two of you and addressed the underlying problems? I am afraid that this is still an uncertain and tensed relationship at its climax waiting to just explode.
