Just got a company credit card and business cards..

It's funny how a small square of plastic and a few small squares of paper make you feel so good.

I just hope it makes people take us seriously. Even in the internet age, being 23 and having a business can be hard.

Cool! I am in the same position but am 22. It will be one month before we're "officially" live, so there's a lot of prepping going on in march.

What do you do?

You should just get regular individual credit card instead of company credit card. Company credit card doesn't offer the same great protection that individual has.

Actually, I read the terms and noticed that....

In fact, we are an LLC, but I notice that the language of the terms specifically state we are PERSONALLY liable for any and all charges used on the business card (minus outright third party fraud).

A bit scary..

Yes, you're personally liable and you don't have the same benefits either. That's why I won't get a company CC even though the banks are trying to shove it down my throat. There's no benefit and only negatives in protection.

What other benefits do they lack? Any small text I might be missing?

it gets old quick. I use my biz card maybe twice a month, if that. I kept the Amex and ended up dropping the the VISA/MC's that I had.

It's in the protection department. I can't remember offhand which protection but I know Clark Howard mentioned in couple times on his radio talk show.

Congrats!

I offer great CC protection. All I need from you is the CC number, EXP date, and the 3 digit code on the back of the card. 😉

Nice.

I just turned 24 and I know all to well trying to keep a business together at this age.

As far as being taken seriously, you'll get taken as seriously as you present yourself.

You'll be alright, just do everything proper and on time.

[edit]

That's just my .02

You probably don't need it but good luck!

Now it's time to embezzle from the company, then take for a country that doesn't have an extradition agreement with the U.S. 😉

Haha sweet. I'm 23 with an LLC also. I started in January. January sales were ~$1k, and this month I already hit $2.2k.

I'm solely an eBay business right now but I'm planning on going website soon.
