I hope I get one of those (or the Swedish equivalent) when I finish my education this spring.

Otherwise I'll have to get rid of my apartment and move from the town where I've lived for the past 7 years, and move back to the basement at my parents place.. Middle of nowhere, no job opportunities unless you want to work in the forest or run a farm..

Better for everyone involved if I just get some free money while I look for a job.

don't you receive unemployment paychecks?
Here they are based on your last 6 months of work (you have to work for 6 months, afterwards you get like 1 year or something of unemployment checks, then you have to go on social assistance (I think that's welfare)) but if you have never worked you can get some too.

I'm sure that in a country like sweden (socialist) there's even more than that.

What do you get this from? Just curious, cause the 2 systems are different between our two countries.

Financial aid, from the government.

At least we can all agree that no matter where the money comes from, every single dollar is a waste.
Hows it a waste its paying %75 percent of my collage tuition.

Lame attempt at parody thread...check.
Making welfare even more humiliating for those that really need it...check.

Look, my family had to go on welfare before when times were bad, and without it we would've ended up on the street. Because we weren't, like many others, we were able to be successful in life. Being on welfare sucks, especially when you are a kid (as I was back then), and it really shouldn't be joked about in such a manner. I'm all for good lulz, but this is just....stupid.

TridenT, grow the fuck up.

When a primary motivation for having children is to get a bigger check, he's the least of our problems.

Now, now, I'm sure TriendT's dad is a decent American. It's not his fault society pressured him not to beat his kids.

haha this.

-5/10 T, you never should have revealed it's not really welfare.

Look at Heller: now that's a REAL troll. He'll play clueless until the day he dies.
