WOOT! Got my first checkmate yesterday!

First board game (if you don't count checkers) and I elected to go with a classic Hübner Variation to start rather than a Levitsky Attack. For shits and giggles.

All I can say is...checkmate, biotch!

Seriously, what is the best electronic chess game out there?

I assume you don't mean electronic board and reffering to computer game? Best as in fun or challenge?
Technically Deep Rybka 4 engine is the overall most powerful,http://www.chessbase-shop.com/en/products/5753
followed by Deep Fritz12/Deep Shredder 12. Those are pro chess engine, very expensive but do have nice 3d chess pieces and access to infinite database study...these chess engines are what many cheaters use on free online chess games, by copying moves or using apps like "chessbuddy".

The most fun and beatiful imo is Majestic chess followed by Grandmaster edition of Chessmaster (12) which also has the better, easier to learn tutorials that can really help you improve yourself without complication.

overall, Majestic chess is the winner. For online play your better off with chess.com for free or better yet the subscription ones like ICC
if you were reffering to electronic boards, then heres the top of line: http://www.thechessstore.com/c=7KOLWaQVQpSGrYVKX2CKkLnKT/category/160_chess_computers/
