Woot! Free gaming until end of Apr. OnLive ending

"Sony is acquiring important parts of OnLive, and their plans don't include a continuation of the game service in its current form. Your service should continue uninterrupted until April 30, 2015. No further subscription fees will be charged, and you can continue to play all of your games until that date."

"The OnLive service is now free for all users and those who paid $10 a month to play on the firm's servers will get a refund backdated to March 28."

Good. R.I.P streaming. Long live muh oversized desktop PC :awe:

You got that right! See ya!

Streaming isn't going anywhere. It has its share of issues that will make most hardcore gamers turn their noses up, but as it continues to evolve, it's becoming more and more impressive. I had the opportunity of playing a game on PS Now recently and it worked surprisingly well, despite a little bit of latency.

Yeah people said that when onlive was first released years ago.

Graphical demands keep going up and up so yeah in a way... streaming isnt going anywhere 😉

Did they get their pings down to 5-10ms?
I imagine if they had server farms close enough to their users it'd work better.

It worked fine for me in los angeles. I actually bought a couple games that I now wont have access to. Oh well. The lower resolution kinda killed it for me anyway. It never felt horribly sluggish though.
