I didn't think it would approve me immediatley.

I listed household income that isn't mine, why do they let you do that? As a result I have a limit $1,100 higher than my current CC.

Even with the high limit in relation to my somewhat low income, I can keep things under control. I just had to move away from Capital One, they were doing nothing for me.

why would you want a limit higher than what you can afford..

good luck with the endless spiral of credit debt that seems to be 95% of america...

Is that the card with the 5% cash back at gas stations, grocery stores, and drug stores?

yes it is

And oogabooga, I have excellent credit. My capital one limit went from $500 to $3000 and I haven't had any problems, I pay it off every month. I also work for a credit union and know how valuable credit is. I can have a high limit and be responsible not to use it all. Thanks for assuming though asshat.

I only have one credit card right now and a small secured loan that's almost paid off. I'm 21 and started when I was 19.

I put my parents income as part of the household income so my credit limit is 3k, not bad for a first credit card. but i never spend mroe than i can pay off every month so im not really worried about going into debt.

I've got a student loan I pay on time, two credit cards I pay off every month, both with decent limits, nothing negative on my report, so I'd say I've got decent credit. I'm 24 btw, so I have several years of such credit behind me.

Exactly, that was my plan. I didn't want to be denied just because of income and waste an inquiry on my credit report.

I just had to get away from Capital One ASAP.

Yeah I just got the same credit card as you too in early march. 3000 dollar limit is cool, but I plan on paying it off every month. I love the cash back.

I don't get it. Why be happy about a higher credit limit if your cash is the same? Unless you go into debt it ain't like you can spend anymore anyway...

The limit on my Capital One card is $3000, most I've ever put on it in a month was around $700.

I'm about to start paying my own car insurance so this new Citi card will be great because I'll likely only be using it for gas and will enjoy the 5% back.

I didn't really want a limit that high, I just wanted to move away from Capital One. Might even call them to have it lowered.

Ahhh, I see. You made it seem like you were overjoyed about the raised LIMIT, not about the company.

Use it at grocery stores and drug store too. I use mine at super one foods. Hell, I think you still get 1% back everywhere else too. As long as you pay it off every month, you will be ok.

I got a CC about 2 years ago w/$1000 limit. Nearly maxed the thing out twice and have had a balance on it ever since. Got a $1000 increase about 6 months ago. Again almost maxed the thing out and just got it paid off last month.

Just checked my CC yesterday and they gave me a $1500 increase...sitting at $3500 available with a $0 balance.

Such a good feeling :)

i was told by capital 1 that if you call once ever 6 months they will either raise your limit or lower your interest rates. they can only do one or the other and only once every 6 months.

I never understood why people would sit around and use a CC all the time and be charged anywhere from 5% - 29% (ARP) interest. You're basically just throwing money way.
