Wooohoooo!! Drink up soda drinkers!! Dehydration myth is B.S.!!!!!!

Yeah! Now all they have to do is make it so it doesn't make you fat or rot your teeth, and we're all set.

I thought this was common knowledge. Same with coffee and other caffeinated drinks.

Not until recently, actually!! Most interwebs return more "swearers by it" that it's a known fact that it dehydrates!!

I can't remember where I saw it first, but apparently Europe was a little quicker to this than us and disproved it sooner but regardless, it's just nice to know!!!

About damn time!!

Now, I just need them to ok smelling gasoline at the pump & I'll be all set!!!

Nah, I'll continue doing it regardless of what they say.

But, to celebrate this mildly important find, I have just poured myself a nice Sailor Jerry and Coke.
mmmm
Previously I did try to avoid dehydrating consumables before having to wake up the next morning and sweat something fierce. But it's okay now!

Um...the coke might not dehydrate you, but the alcohol will.

doh, I forgot about the alcohol.

woops. 😀

Well instead of it being a potentially double-dehydrating product... it's half hydrating, half dehydrating. Net loss of 0? ^_^

Had my first coke in about a year at the movies last night. I still stand by my claim that there is no better tasting soft drink than coke from a fountain.

I definitely need to pee more after a soda. It might be though that it tastes better than just water so I end up drinking more than I would otherwise. I'll have to pay more attention to how much I'm drinking next time.

Bullshit....a cup of coffee makes me piss, and the average cup has 200mg in it.

And I can drink an entire 2 liter of Coke before noon and not have to piss until 10 or 11 at night. Soda does not dehydrate me nor make me piss any more than water does.

"It was long thought that caffeinated beverages were diuretics, but studies reviewed last year found that people who consumed drinks with up to 550 milligrams of caffeine produced no more urine than when drinking fluids free of caffeine. Above 575 milligrams, the drug was a diuretic."

Uhh... this study is retarded. It ignores the effect of sodium, which soda is full of. Craploads of salt = craploads of pee, because your body is desperately trying to get rid of the excess.

That's odd, because I can't think of any soda that has salt in it.
For example, there's no sodium in Coca-Cola

Recovery drinks like Gatorade intentionally have sodium since they're intended to be consumed after you just sweated your ass off.
