Hi,
Im a very happy chappy.
Ive just ordered a iPod from the Apple UK Online store, the 15gb one. I`m very pleased, ive wanted an iPod for ages.
How long will it take for them to process it anyway?I remember seeing a little caption thing that said "build time, 2-3 weeks", will it definately take that long? And theres a upto 6 day delivery on top of that as well. I dont want to have to wait longer than i have to to get it!!.
Have any of you guys ordered from the Apple Online Store? If so, what are your experiances with them?

Enjoy papi!

Do yourself a favor and upgrade those stock earbuds. I wrote down what seem to be the best choices here.

Thanks for the link.
To be honest, im not that much of an Audiophile to notice, but having said that, i brought a new set of headphones a while back, dunno if they are better or not. Cant imagine that they would be, i got them cheap, reduced from £16 to £6.

Here are the specs of them(from box), cant find them on Philips website.
Philips HS310
Frequency range = 20->20,000hz
Sensitivity = 100dB
Impedance = 16Ohm
Cable Length = 1.2m / 3.9 ft
Maximum Power Input = 15mW
Jack = 3.5mm

I`ll probably buy a really decent pair with my next pay check in October.

Hi guys,
I decided to check on the Apple website on my order status, and at the point where it says "enter order code and zip/post code", i enter it, but then says it cannot find order!!! WTF is going on? I remember ordering it, and it wouldnt have given my a order code without the order being placed. Whats going on then?

Did you recieve a confirmation email from them? (maybe with order code?)

If so, then give them a ring and tell them your order code, and that you couldn't find details of your order online, they should be able to check if it's there, and maybe help you sort the problem.

No confirmation email, although on the final screen of the ordering thing, it gave me a order code and said to save it, which i did.

Now, in IE, i goto the Apple website, log in, and on the right it says "Your order has 1 item". It doesnt say that in Opera bty.
Does that mean that i have one order remaining to ship, or does that mean one item in my basket?
But when i go to order status, it says the same as opera, "cannot find order using the details you provided".

Ive just got 2 emails of Apple;
Order Acknoledgement
Order Confirmation

Both have the order code that i had before in it, but on the order status screen on their website, it still wont recoqnise the number.

LOL. Probably am.
But when ive just spent £300 on something, i`d like to know if its been ordered or not.
Ive asked a relative to check with Apple for me, as i`m going to the Italian Consulate in Manchester in a few minutes, so i`ll guess i`ll know for sure by the end of the day.

I totally understand. Dell took like 2-3 weeks to stock them and deliver it to me. Yes I was pretty jumpy about it too :D

Sadly, from what I've heard, the build time estimate is pretty accurate - it'll be a couple of weeks before you get it. Sad to say, but iPods are just a little too popular for apple to keep up with :)

Hi all.
I phoned Apple, and my iPod has been ordered, and the website thing is just a bug.

I also asked about the compatibility between Audigy SB1394 and the iPod, and the bloke on the other end said the using MusicMatch it`ll have problems syncing the iPod, but i`d be using Ephpod anyway. Have any of you had problems between the two?

My problem now is waiting for it.
I brought it now rarther than in December, so i can use on the way to and from College (and in my boring classes!!!), i go back on the 8th , but cos of the building wait, it could be as late as the 19th (worst case scenario). They said at worst it`d be completed building on the 16th, and upto 3 days for delivery.

Update for you guys.
I recieved an email from Apple a few minutes ago saying that the product had been build and shipped. I phoned them, and aparently the "2-3 week build time" is a buffer for them, and that it is now being shipped from Taiwan, by courier, to another courier in Luxemburg, which`ll then ship it to the correct UK address (my house).
I have no idea how long that`ll take them to get it too me, but it does mean that i wont have to wait as long!!!

I did however notice a problem with the order address, it said CW1-3R, when it should had said 3RZ. I phoned them again, and they said that they`d inform the courier to change it.
I cant see the wrong post code making that much difference to be honest, cos the CW1 means: Crewe, West, Region1. And the 3RZ, indicates the exact area and street (Merlin Way), they then need the house number, which is on the package anyway. So considering that Crewe isnt exactely big, and neither is "Crewe West 1", then im sure than the courier can work out where to post it.
Or would they just drop it at the local post office, and let them deliver it?

Unless it's "City Link". They have to be the worst courier I have ever had the misfortune of being involved with. Parcel Force every time IMO. Unfortunately you have no choice it's as you know down to the distributer. :(

Oh god, don't get me started on City Link! Those useless, brainless, lazy.....

p.s. BoomAM - let me know what kind of battery life you get with the ipod. I'm really, really close to buying one, but the only worries I have are its battery life, and the lack of radio (I like to listen to the radio while I cycle to work). that and the fact that there are all these clones, supposedly just as good, that are supposedly coming out, any day now... ;)

I havnt got it yet! Its still being delivered from Taiwan to the UK.

Anyway, is this firewire card any good? Its £10 cheaper than the Belkin one from the same website.

http://ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=524

You don't have to install MMJB at all. Grab the 2.01 firmware updater for Windows, and install it on your machine. When you plug the iPod in, it will be detected, and the firmware update program will update the firmware and convert it to Windows at the same time. Once that's done, you can install EphPod, and use everything hunky-dory.

The driver CD is almost entirely useless; last I checked all it has was the Windows formater(which can be done by the 2.01 updater), MMJB, and the documentation. You can pick up the 2.01 updater here.
