Congratulations on being unemployed. I would suggest signing up with a temp agency and applying for food stamps ASAP, and request a credit line increase on your lowest interest credit card now before you build up too much dept to get any more credit approved. Not doing that was the biggest mistake I made when I became unemployed. If I'd had food stamps during the months my wife and I were both unemployed, then I'd have enough of a credit line now to buy some raid roach baits and renew the expired license sticker on my car. As it is I must wait another couple more weeks until she gets her first paycheck.
Oh and don't cancel your internet access, most job applications are online these days. Canceling internet is like giving up on ever having a job again. Disconnecting gas might save you money in the summer, there are plenty of foods you can make without an oven. Speaking of gas, get used to walking everywhere except job interviews,it'll save money and be good for your health. Sell plasma if you can, but don't bother if you have to take ibuprofen or other meds. If you try to sell your tv now, you can ask a higher price for it then you can when you need money fast. Only use one credit card at a time, they use low interest balance transfers to move the balance onto your other cards.
Refried beans, rice, and potatoes are pretty much the cheapest foods that still have nutritive value. Now is a good time to learn to cook them in a way that you'll be able to put up with indefinitely. If your computer is worth a lot you could sell it and replace it with a cheaper one, like a used duron computer. Finally, make yourself a pizza or something to celebrate every time you get an interview. Try to keep morale high.
