the game doesn't look as good when you're actually playing it. These are replays that are rendered REALTIME on the PS2... that's what impressed me.

As for the actual game, I'm going to buy it since I never really played GT3

i have gt4 prologue and its not really that great. I like the way the cars handle in GT3 better. prologue isn't the finished game but its suppost to show off their phyics model and graphics engine

It is not a driving simulator until it has realistic damage modeling.

I see cars bumping each other in those vids: cars made out of FIBERGLASS with no damage done!

This is not realistic. This is a joke. I will not call GT a sim until the realistically model car damage. Subsystems, graphically, everything. I think they already model engine damage due to driver error, but I've never played so I don't know.

when GT3 came out, i read an article about the damage question. and the creators of gt3 claimed that they were not allowed to do the damage because the car brands (mitbusishi, nissan, etc) would not let them because it would advertise their cars damaged, which is not a good way to show off their brand of cars.

then NFS:HP2 and NFS:U came out, and my cars were gettin banged up left and right ... and i realized the creators of GT3 are either too lazy or not smart enough to do that, cause their excuse i read about is a lie.

You need to have permission from the companies you license the cars from - EA was very fortunate to be able to implement a damage system with such high-end cars. There's a reason there wasn't any damage until the third installment in the NFS series
