This is some very exciting news.

So, I went to the pub with a couple of friends and had some pints while my wife was at the doctor (too far from work for me to make it in time).

As I am enjoying a pint, my wife called to let me know that she is in fact pregnant and 8 weeks along. I know it is early, but I'm excited.

She proceeded to ask me if my family had a propensity for twins, and I said no, and thought nothing of it.

Well, the doctor did his scan and lo an behold, there are 2 masses.
TWINS IT IS.

Right now I am in a state of shock. My wife literally just started her new job a couple of weeks ago and this happens. Talk about bizarre timing. We have been trying for about a year now, and it happens right after she starts her job. I was in the process of planning a trip to Sweden to visit some friends this fall as well. Guess that is out the window.

WOW.

Time for more beer. Knowing my luck it is going to be 2 girls and they will be cute which will make my life all the more interesting.

Hi, great news, dont want to steal your thunder, but my wife is 8 wks too....so know how you feel....

Uh Oh.... We're going to know this morning for how long my wife is pregnant. If it's 8 weeks too... it will be interesting. 🙂
Congrats to you 4, and to us !

Congrats man, life changing for sure. Enjoy the ride!! (and dodge the pee aimed squarely at your face)

Ok, how many posts about babies 8 weeks along!??! You guys coordinate an ATOT "make babies tonight" thread?

Congratulations, and whatever you do, get lots and lots and lots of sleep in the next few months!

As the proud dad of newborn twin boys, I can tell you that it's great to have them and they will change your life completely, but you'll be sleep deprived for a long time. You'll wonder what the heck you used to do with all that free time and money before the twins were born. You'll wonder what it was like to actually sit and watch a ballgame. You'll wonder what it was like having hair before you pulled it all out when one of the munchkins isn't feeling well and won't go to sleep, keeping the other one awake for a stereo-crying fest 😉 Still, I would not trade it for the world.

Congrats again..... Oh, and since I've just gone down the path that you are about to head down, if you'd like to chat or have questions etc, feel free to PM me.

<--- has two boys aged 10 months

That is so very wonderful! Congrats Dad!!!! 🙂
Best wishes to your wife for a very happy, comfortable and easy 9 months!

Congratulations

But just a note, the man has nothing to do with it being twins. So if twins run on your side of the family the only one it may influence is if your sister has twins. Just thought I'd throw that biology out there to clear up a common misconception.

Soydios speaks the truth. I have two girls. And a shotgun.
