Hey, does "nicotine" itself taste like anything, or is it just the tar in cigarettes that taste bad?

Nicotine is tasteless, odorless and colorless.

Amused only one problem with your arguments so far. Most people don't build next the airport. The airport gets built next to them and expands. They always try to block it but never can.

Can you say home value plummets? Unless the government buys the home people get screwed.

Uhh... not true. For example, the town I grew up in has a long history of aviation, including the oldest contiuously operating airport in the world (which is also the site of the Chkalov landing). Another of its small airports has been continuously used since the '20s and, until the late '70s, was located in a rural area well east of town. Then developers began building all around it and (of course) people bought the homes. For the last 20 years, non-stop efforts have been made to close this small airport because of the noise, despite the fact that the airport was there for 50 years before the homes were. Thankfully, they have not been successful.

Actually, as an ex-smoker, I can tell you that most smokers think cigarettes taste good (if you can believe that, even though it's true).

When I smoked I enjoyed the taste as well. But whenever I was sick (had a cold or something) they always tasted like sh!t.

Not to Dredge this thread up again but I just saw a quote in someones AT sig that sums the problem with this perfectly.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
