Congrats. I like the front door. It seems so trivial but, for whatever reason, I've always liked a nice contrasting red front door.

Anyway, if you're comfortable saying...how much down, how much were closing costs, what's your rate and payment? I feel rude asking, but my wife and I are looking for our first house right now and this is sort of our price range too.

Oh I wanted to mention, there's something about a red door for me too. The contrast is what it is I think. It seems to be fairly popular for houses built in this time period.

Red front doors always remind me of Nightmare on Elm St.

:(

Cost of living i suppose. 450k here would get you a really nice one.

I'd recommend registering at Houston Association of Realtors Lots of really great information there. I used it exclusively. If you ahve questions about certain areas in Houston, send me PMs. I'd be happy to give my opinions. I've lived here for 9 years.

Looks like a nice home!

I just wouldn't live in suburbia in a desert that can't support itself.

I would start planting some raised vegetable gardens in the back yard, wire in a few solar pannels and put in a grid array.

As you county PUD about buy back

Thanks!

I wasn't aware Houston being an hour from the coast was a desert, but thanks anyway. :)

If I were you I would try to aim for 5/31 closing, closing at the beginning of the month means having to pay for the entire months interest out of pocket at closing, not that it makes a difference in the end, but some people prefer to pay later than at closing, congrats.

I thought of that. I think the seller is fairly set on this unfortunately. I'll give it a shot though.

May I ask how much and where?

$195k, minus the seller's contribution and any options I come up with.
In Houston.
Congrats! Nice house.

Wish it was like that here in LA...waiting for the next earthquake so prices here will come back down to earth. Just joking.:)
