Its a very nice house. Congrats!!!!
May I ask how much and where?

$195k, minus the seller's contribution and any options I come up with.
In Houston.

Holy crap...$195k here gets a 1500sq 2 or 3BR Townhouse...you get a 2-car garage but that's included in the total square footage AND it's a track home with 1,000 other homes right next to you.

I think I need to move! :D

Haha come on down!

that kitchen needs an upgrade though, otherwise i like the way she looks outside.

Yep that's the first thing my girlfriend said. It was updated in 95, and is very clean, but I'm good with getting some new appliances, a new coat of paint and a nice granite or man-made stone countertop.

But anyway, nice place. I'm jealous, if you can't tell.

Cool, $450k here would get you inside the loop in a nice area or in a more exclusive nice area in a smaller home. It seems my budget is right at the edge. If I could have afforded just a bit more I could have gotten an upgrade closer in. This one is not that far though, I'll be about 8 miles from work.

Thanks it's much nicer than the other one I was looking at. I'm thrilled the previous buyer backed out. I got the inspection report from the listing agent, and there's no scary stuff in it. Just minor finish items mostly.

It's in Spring Branch, in the nicer part. The house was built in 1968.

Congrats. I like the front door. It seems so trivial but, for whatever reason, I've always liked a nice contrasting red front door.

Anyway, if you're comfortable saying...how much down, how much were closing costs, what's your rate and payment? I feel rude asking, but my wife and I are looking for our first house right now and this is sort of our price range too.

Oh I wanted to mention, there's something about a red door for me too. The contrast is what it is I think. It seems to be fairly popular for houses built in this time period.

Very nice. I love that chateau style of home. Fits in great with the trees.

Nice house!
At first glance, looks very much like one in movie "The Firm". Tree shade is good in H-Town, too :)

Beautiful house. How did you get that for $195K? That would easily cost around $450K where I'm at.

Housing prices vary vastly from region to region.

It would be about the same price where I live, in SW GA

Red front doors always remind me of Nightmare on Elm St.

Gooberlx2 if you are looking for a house you should definitely register on creditboards. You will find answers to any and all questions regarding mortgage and rates. It is helping me a lot (just bought a house and closing on May 18th).
