Somewhere in my room I have a state tax refund check for $1.02. I wanted to burn it when I got it just to say that I burned my tax refund check. I would spend more on gas driving to the bank to cash it than it's worth.

where can i see what went wrong.. it's the freakin 1040EZ for god sakes... i know i couldn't have screwed it up, i only made a grand last year.

The entire tax return system sucks.
The best you can do is zero $0.00.
Otherwise they've made money on your money, they sould have to pay back the interest too!
People should just have to pay their taxes quarterly like businesses. What they owe, period.
No estimation, no return.

Sorry about the rant.

I'm getting back $1500.00, which means that ole Uncle Sammy made about $75.00 extra X like 100,000,000.

Funny how I got about $700 total when I made just under 6.6k 2 years ago, and now that I made some decent money (over 6 times that amount), I hardly get much more. Grrr.

I owe 1500 between fed and state! I am filing a suit with H&R, they did my taxes and filed it electronically when I specifically told them NOT to. The acountant gave me my envelopes with the forms and said mail them. I went home, sealed the envelopes and was about to mail them when she called me frantically and said "Dont mail them! I sent them electronically". What would have happened if I sent them anyway? I yelled at her and went to the office and comlpained to the manager and demanded my fee back. They are going to redo my taxes for free and if there is ANY discrepency I am gonna sue! Bastards!

I got about $3200 from Federal and about $1400 from State. But I am with gnognugs - it sucks that I just basically gave the Government an intrest free loan. Oh well, I am not complianing too much. It helped me buy my car!

Heh, I owe $300... Next year I'll get a break though as I'm buying a house in August...

What really sucks is that I had $300 in charitable contributions and over $4000 in loan interest that I couldn't deduct (first because I didn't itemize and the second because the limit for loan interest deductions is $2000, I paid close to $6K!)
