I just booted up my first built comp
epox 8k7a+
antec sx1040
1 stick of 256 ddr ram
Ati radeon 64mbvivo

It booted to the bios ok, woohoo
now I need to install
IBM 60gp 60 gig
Pioneer DVD
IOmega 650cdr
Iomega zip
floppy

how should i configure, all of these componets together
can I use just the one harddrive, with the on-board raid, and will I have to configure raid(with its boot disk) before I do anything
One more for the road
For all you epox owners, is their any cords that I will need that did not come with the motherboard

Congrats. I'd recommend putting the HD on one of your RAID ports (it'll work fine with just one), then put the DVD and the zip drive on your secondary channel and your CD-RW on your primary IDE.

That's my thoughts.

To put the hard drive on the one of the raid ports will I first have to install, the raid driver disk that came with the MOBO, or will it automatically detect it

It'll automatically detect it. Drivers wont be needed until you try to install an OS. :)

Might as well do it ASAP. You don't even need the HD installed to do that. Just a floppy :)

CONGRADULATIONS!!!! Now you will begin to understand why so many people prefere to build their own units. It's the satisfaction of having done it yourself and watching as everything comes up and running.
