Woohoo! I can hit 94,253 PPD with my system in F@H

Probably not that shocking to some of you, but it is to me. Decided to switch to using 12 threads with my 980X since the GPU clients use very little CPU cycles now.

I haven't tried it for any significant length of time with 12 threads yet, but browsing the web does seem to drop the PPD down a few thousand PPD. The performance of the browser is still good. If I leave it alone without doing anything, the CPU will stay around 36,000 PPD. The GPU clients are the ones that drop performance of the web browser whenever anything Flash related is displayed. I don't do any folding when gaming. I turn it all off.

I usually run two GPU clients at a time. Running three plus the CPU will trip the protection circuitry in my Corsair AX1200 power supply after a while. It has also tripped the breaker once.

Wow. And I thought I used a lot of juice with a Q6600 @ 3.6, and two GTX460 1GB OC cards at 820-840Mhz.

I was powering all of that off of a single Antec EarthWatts 650W PSU, and it handled it 24/7 for a month without a problem.

3 GTX580s is what, like 700-750W of power all by themselves?

I don't have a kill-a-watt to monitor usage at the wall, but I'm guessing each card is using between 275W to 300W.

That's total system power.

I'm pretty certain that the new GPU folding projects do cause the cards to use more power than Furmark. Running three GPU folding units I see the temps on the three cards as 94, 93, 93 with the fans between 4000 and 4500 RPM. With OCCT (which uses Furmark in SLI) I see the temps as 91, 90, 89 with the fans between 3700 and 4100 RPM.
