Woohoo I benched 205 lbs today.

Argo

Lifer
8 clean reps. And on a regular bench press, not sissy smith machine. Next goal to do 225 by the summer.

Argo,

This thread will soon fill up with people who claim to have benched far more, so I'd like to note that in REAL life, only a small percentage can bench more then their body weight. Good job.

Me:

5' 9"
165 lbs.

Max Bench 120.

I have only been to the gym like 3 times in my entire life so I think that is what it is. I don't really know. I am more a runner than a weight lifter.

Very true and a good point, Russ. Many people claim to be able to bench their weight, or twice (thrice? :Q) their weight, yet of course it is less common than that. I myself am in quite better shape than your average Joe, and I admit I can not bench my weight. I dunno, *maybe* I could do a rep.. but that would not count, and it'd probably be a pretty crappy rep at that.

Good job if you're honest.

I guess I'll add my entry then... hehe:

5'8", 137 lbs

single rep- 215
multiple - 8/170

17 yrs old
6'2'' 275
max bench was 260 when i was 16

Havent lifted in almost a yr now.

Edit: yeah yeah imma chunk. But a fairly strong chunk 😀

There is a kid in my gym -- he's about 5'6" prolly 270 lbs. He can do one rep of 450 lbs. That is sick. Yet on the lat pull down he does less than me. Talk about being one dimensional 🙂

I was chubby in highschool so I compensated by working out like crazy when I was 16. Barely started puberty then. I was 5' 9" and about 245 lbs. After 7 months I was still chubby but benching 225 like nothing. The max I was able to do was 250 lbs and only 2 reps. I concentrated on upper body mostly. Looked like one of those Strongest man contestants; no real definition but a lot of strength.

But that was years ago and I should start working out again.

i saw a woman on MTV who was trying out for the WWF via the Tough Enough show who could bench 235. lol

I saw her too. she's kinda hot.

I'm 5'8 and weight about 135lb.

regular bench is about 95lbs (3 sets)
max bench that i have ever done, 115lb (3 reps)

damn im weak!

6' 1" 235 lbs.

bench:

max - bag of doritos
reps - all-in-one controller
most ever - double big mac with cheese

205... wow... I'm still putting along at 120x10 w/3sets... of course, I weigh a whole lot less and I'm shorter 🙂
Good job! What's your goal? I just lift to feel healthy and "look good naked" 😀

Speaking of women that can kick your @$$... Jessica Alba... Sarah Michelle Gellar... Eliza Dushku... so many hot kick@$$ girls...

"look good naked"

haha, yeah forget about how much you can bench and how many times. It's all about looking good naked!!!

geez i gotta get back to the gym... used to be able to do 160ish but i've been out for a while and can only really do 140ish i suppose now... 5'11 170 so i guess that's not that bad... i'm pretty good in the pushups department though...
