I'm not sure what I'm getting myself into ... I've been working for a few years and I figured why not give it shot and to my surprise I got in!

I'm going to try the part time thing and see how hellish it'll be :) Any grad students or stanford alums want to chime in on any tips?

he probably got funded. No engineer/science grad student that I know of pays for their grad degree. Be prepared to work your butt off, hopefully you get hooked up with a sweet advisor so you can do some nice research!

Edit: It really helps to read the OP LOLZ

Part timers don't get funding. Is your job footing the bill for you? BTW, you will be working your ass off. Part-time grad students have it tough due to the amount of hw you will have plus working full time.

well the reason I'm doing part time is cause work would pay for it ... I still gotta submit the paper work to get the monies approved but I got a verbal ok from the boss. At least, I get to brush up on some of the stuff I've long forgotten, like analog design *shudders*

Do NOT pay for engineering grad school. If they do not give you guaranteed assistance in the form of a TA, RA, or fellowship, or a company is not funding your way do NOT go. It makes no sense to pay for engineering grad school. All of my undergrad professors were very up front about this when I was asking them for advice on grad school.

Having said that, I was accepted to Stanford's EE grad program but turned it down for another school a few notches down the list. Stanford wouldn't give me a dime of aid, and the other school was going to pay me to attend (I had to work as a TA though).

Good luck.

yes your life is pretty much over. I hope you like being a book worm and you're ready for lots of work. Don't worry, i'll have to get my masters here soon enough.
