WooHoo, gas price wars close to my work

Sluggo

Lifer
7-11

In case you cant read the price, regular unleaded is $1.61 a gallon, uleaded plus is $1.69 and super is $1.72 🙂

Right across the street @ Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market (Which rule for quick trips to the grocery store) gas is also $1.61.

This micro pricewar has been going on about 2 weeks and both stores are about 15-20 cents below the city average.

There are rumors that in some places that it has dropped below $2 here in LV.

funny that it was more the threat of investigations than the actual availability of oil that caused the price to go down.

There is no more oil on the market, just perception.

Oklahoma must not have state gas tax. I paid aound $2.75 this weekend for premium in Ca.

State tax is about 17 cents a gallon. We generally always have cheaper gas prices than the rest of the nation. Kind of a consolation prize for having to live here. 😛

For regular unleaded we topped out at about $1.95 a couple of weeks ago.

My guess would be Vons with the club card discount. Either that or Costco.

Here in Reno there was a period for about a month where Costco's prices were 23¢~33¢ below the rest of the gas stations in the area. The lines were something like 30 minutes long, but it was damn well worth it.

Oh by the way, you Vegas bastards have had cheaper gas than us for the past month and some. That ain't right. 😛

It's not all that bad.🙂 I go there all the time for fishing/hunting. Caught a 45lb striper at fort gibson in May.

The main reason CA takes it up the cooloo is 7.25% sales tax on top of a state excise tax of 18 cents. Then they have but 1 or 2 refineries and most is imported. Third is distance from refineries in the gulf states and from the middle east. Finally the special blend minus MTBE which adds about 20cents.

Prices have been dropping a little bit here. It's $2.019 at several stations locally and when I was in NJ on Monday the generic gas station on 17 North just before the NY border was $1.929 a gallon.

So far the cheapest I have found gas in Grand Rapids, MI is $1.83. I was reading an article in the local paper to expect regular around $1.60 by mid July. I'll believe it when I'm filling up for that price! hehe

In Levittown, Pa I last paid was 2.10 for regular unleaded. But last time I filled up was sunday when I left for state college pa with my brother and up around here it is 1.87 for regular unleaded

No kidding. I'm in Cali to pick up a car, and Gas is crazy here.

The gas price microwar made the 6PM news tonight.

Prices dropped another penny this afternoon at 7-11. 😀

What struck me as odd was that it looked to be a 10 minute wait for gas at $1.60, while across the street at $1.61 the pumps were empty. 😕

The closer you get to the coast (where the oil comes in, and where the oil is refined), the cheaper oil is. Oil has to be transported up north, causing costs to rise.
