It all depends on the fat...stay away from transfats, the rest are safe. Fat fills you up faster than protein and carbs..so you can't really eat "excessive" amounts.
Yeah fats fill better than carbs unless those carbs come int he form of a half pound of chocholate covered almonds :D:D

You don't eat a ton of fat. You eat a lot of protein, and maintain the amount of carbs you allow into your body. It is not as though you eat nothing aside from steak and chicken. :) Vegetables, and most things you probably eat in a normal meal or ones that you think of are close to what you would eat at every meal aside from a 1 or 2 things. :)

Or atleast thats the way my wife does it, seems to have worked for her and has helped her mother out a lot. :)

Does the weight loss vary significantly between males and females?

Females lose weight slower. Hormones..and less muscle mass has alot to do with this.

What do you do for cheap, quick and easy breakfast and lunch meals?

To be honest, I rarely eat breakfast anymore... I'm just never hungry in the morning.... I usually make myself down a glass of V8 Splash Diet Fruit Juice (3 carbs/8oz.) cuz its actually really good and gives me a early morning sugar boost to wake up.... the maybe twice a week I actually eat breakfast, It's usually a omelette (with green pepper/onion/whole lotta cheese/meat/etc.)or some form of breakfast meat and eggs.

Seeing how I never really get hungry, I rarely snack between meals.... but If i do, I always have some hunter's sausages lying in the meat drawer, or string cheese, or macadamia nuts/almonds. I never buy any of the "low-carb" food crap, cuz it's waayyyyy overpriced and I'm cheap. A good mindset to have is to just eat for energy.... once u start, and you're not hungry c/o ketosis, it's not that hard to stay on. Sometime's I'll prepare a key-lime low-carb cheesecake with ground up nuts (usually walnuts/almonds/whatever I have lying around) as the crust. Also, Sugar-free Jell-O w/ Cool-whip is my savior.

On the weekends, I do drink/party on fri/sat nights. (just turned 21... gotta get it outta my system lol) Usually something along the lines of vodka/whiskey/tequila and a diet pop, or sometimes Michelob Ultra/miller lite, but I keep these to under 4 cuz they are 2.5 carbs/3.2 carbs still. (and on weekends, I do lower carb intake to around 20, just because I figure I might end up taking in 10-20 carbs at night). The key is that when you take in a lot of carbs, eat something with a lot of protein/fat and low carbs with it to slow down the insulin so it doesnt hit your system all at once. Its kinda easy cuz u can pick up beef jerky/almonds/macadamia nuts/cheese at any 7-11 or party store. It's kinda funny cuz it doenst look like your dieting when your drinking a beer and eating handfuls of nuts/jerky lol...

but yeah, the only night I "fell off the wagon" was my 21st b-day, cuz well, I was away at college with friends and took in a bit too many carbs via beer, but hey, that's not a bad occasion to go over. But yeah, besides that, it's all about exercising, and taking it one day at a time.

Does atkins = no more good tasting beer?

I could deal without the carbs, but rice and pasta are so darn cheap :(

Do you have BEFORE and AFTER picture? If you are shy, just chop the heads off of the pictures... I;m curious if it's very noticeable or not..

Nah, I'm a idiot and didnt do a before pic, cuz I started on it as a bet from my brother. Needless to say, he fell off after 3 days, and I'm still on. he tried to start again, but he is a idiot and put chocolate syrup in his protein shake so he went over lol.

Oh yeah, also the frozen broccoli/cauliflower mix stuff is pretty good as a side thats real quick. Just down it in cheese lol (not literally).

I do get a lot of chinese takeout in the form of chicken chop suey, but I have them steam it with no gravy, and I specifically say no corn starch. I can live on this crap, I swear lol.

Down 30 on Weight watchers in 1 month..

I call b.s. unless you are extremely obese.

The most reasonable way I can see this happening is that your starting weight was after eating a bunch, with heavy clothes/shoes on, and the 2nd one was fasting and naked lol.

Everyone at my work is on weight watchers and the most anyone has lost is 10 in 2 months. A buddy of mine is actually simulteanousely atkinsing/weight watchering and plays tennis in 4 dif leagues (exercise obviously) and hasn't lost that much that fast. Sorry, but I gotta call it lol.

not necessarily.... if i havnet ate barely any carbs in a day, Somtimes I'll order a killians, or a newcastle or something to start the night, then follow it with ultras. Just keep the # of them in check, and EAT SOMETHING WITH IT TO SLOW DOWN THE CARB HIT.

If you love pasta and rice but want to try an atkins type diet. Use whole wheat pasta / rice. Also try to curb your serving size.

I would guess that beer is out of the question on an atkins diet.. but what about hard liquor like whiskey for example, are you allowed to drink that? If not, is there any liquor you can drink (aside from shine lol)?

Thats just great! But please let us know how much you weigh in one years time? Stick to it, or when you get off of it eat sensibly.

I am down 52 lbs. Have kept it off 16 months now. No Atkins, but I changed what I eat and how much. Good luck.

30 lbs in 1 months is bulshit, thats 1lb a day, 7 bls a week. Your skin wouldnt even have enough time time to shrink. Plus extreme weightloss will be followed by extreme gain (its a cycle) .... you cant lose weight while sitting on your asss

well, technically, you aren't supposed to drink on atkins, but well, everyone has a vice. Technically, you're not sposed to drink diet pop either, but if it wasnt for that there would be no way I could stay on it. I just drink less lol.

Jack + Pepsi One = My friend. Definately tastes unlike a jack+coke, but you get used to it. Besides, mix your first one strong and you won't taste the 2nd on anyways lol.

But yeah, generally vodka/whiskey/tequila are safe. Stay away from rum (sugar) and flavored crap. I don't know for sure if jack has sugar or not, but honestly i have acquired a taste for it lol. Jack + diet vernors is also good.... or do diet 7&7's. Supposedly Tonic water is safe if your into that stuff, but club soda is carb-loaded. Personally, i'm not a fan of tanqueray & tonic.
