Holy hell, good job!

Are you supplementing it with exercise? How tall are you?

How tall are you?

What about exercising? Do you do it, what kinds and how frequently?

I remember about 4 years ago I was surfing weight lifting websites and they said to just eliminate carbs, go on an ECA stack, and mix in some cardio and lifting. Well...the funny thing is it worked for tons of people I knew and I kept telling people this and no one believed me until someone actually named it and normal people started getting results with it.

Atkins has been around much longer than 4 years. Also, get it right. Atkins does not call for the elimination of carbs.

I'm not sure what the exact diet consists of but there were a bunch of sites listing this information at least 4 years ago...

All I know is Atkins is something like eat less carbs eat more protein...

I'm like 6'2" - 6'3", pretty muscular I guess (max bench like 255), I lift weights either 5 or 6 days a week depending on schedule, do sit ups/crunches/decline sit ups every day, once or twice a week i'll run a mile or so (like 6 mph). I'm planning to keep on this for life, cuz I'm happy as hell...

EDIT: once you reach desired weight, you add carbs by 5 a day (bumping +5 each week) until you find out how many u can have in a day without gaining weight. <its called lifetime maintenance.... atkins.com if ya want more info...) I'm hoping to lose about 20 more just cuz it seems feasible right now lol... hope I don't get anorexic ha. My original goal weight was 215, but now that I'm 208 I still feel I can lose a bit. Oh, btw, I eat an average of 40-50 carbs a day now (some days a lot less depending on apetite).

Dr. Atkins published Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution back in the 1970's.

Definately... I can actually pull off 8am classes now, then come home for lunch, cook something that takes a while to cook (i.e. grilling), then go to work, and come home and have energy to lift/run/etc, then do hw, and I still feel like hanging out with friends till about midnight lol.... I used to do this but I was always a wreck at 7am :D

After you reach your desired weight, you go on the lifetime maintanence phase..or something like that (I forget what its called). Basically, you can go back to eating breads (whole grain), limited amounts of pasta, and potatoes. This does not mean going back to your old habits, but you can enjoy a potato with your steak now, or a side of pasta with your veal parmigan, etc etc. You can also eat any fruit you'd like, and any veggie. Just try and keep a balance of protein, fats, and carbs (along with excercise), and you will keep the weight off. Go back to your old eating habits (which is true for ANY weight loss plan) and you will gain back the weight. I don't understand why people criticize atkins more than they do other weight loss plans, for being a yo-yo diet. I'd say its actually the easiest to not go back to your old habits, as you stabilize your blood sugars.

Hmm...I always thought it was something new because it didn't start catching on until a few years ago

Several years ago he revised his plan and released Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. (I think that is the title of the newest one.)

What do you do for cheap, quick and easy breakfast and lunch meals?

Also what do you do in between meals if you get a really strong snack urge? Chew on a steak or chicken breast?

That's a good question and would seem inconvenient unless you have some protein just laying around 24/7.

Here are my "tips" for Atkins on a budget..

Breakfast = Eggs. Eggs are rich in protein, easy to make, and cheap. I usually eat them alone, or with pre-cooked sausage links.
Lunch= Tuna. I usually eat 2 cans with some mayo in it. My fridge always is stocked with at least 8 cans of tuna (in oil, the stuff in water is too dry and not as tasteful). I also keep vienna sausages in a can around, and even SPAM. Cheap, high in protein and fat, all very low in carbs. I also sometimes roll up some turkey in a slice of cheese, and eat that.

I haven't done a whole lot of research on Atkins but I'm concerned about eating excessive amounts of fat.

I cook up some grilled chicken breasts and put it in a container along with green beans or peas (and sometimes a small amount of corn) and I'll get that salad in a bag from Kroger and add some Thousand Island light.

Or just tuna with pickle relish and Miracle Whip Light on some toasted whole-wheat bread.

You can also get low net carb snacks (candy bars) from health food stores.

Breakfast, I usually go with one (or two if I run that morning) toaster scramble (if you're going to eat carbs...breakfast is the best time)

It all depends on the fat...stay away from transfats, the rest are safe. Fat fills you up faster than protein and carbs..so you can't really eat "excessive" amounts.

Do you have BEFORE and AFTER picture? If you are shy, just chop the heads off of the pictures... I;m curious if it's very noticeable or not..
